Education and work experience:

Katarzyna Borycka-Steczkowska, MD, PhD – General Surgeon, Proctologist she graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at the Jagiellonian University Medical College in Krakow. She earned her PhD in Medical Sciences from the Medical Centre of Postgraduate Education (CMKP) in Warsaw, where she continues her clinical, academic, and teaching career to this day.

For over 25 years, she has been professionally dedicated to gastrointestinal surgery,with a particular focus on diseases of the lower gastrointestinal tract, the colorectal region, and the pelvic floor

Dr Borycka-Steczkowska specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic diseases of the anus and rectum, encompassing both benign and neoplastic conditions. Her particular area of clinical interest is anal sphincter reconstruction following obstetric anal sphincter injuries (OASI) and restoring their function in female patients presenting with fecal incontinence and long-term postpartum complications. Working in close collaboration with gynecologists and urologists, she performs interdisciplinary pelvic floor reconstructive proceduresand, in collaboration with gastroenterologists, manages patients presenting with surgical complications of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).
In her clinical practice, Dr. Borycka-Steczkowska consistently implements modern minimally invasive techniques including laparoscopy, transanal endoscopic microsurgery (TEM), and the full spectrum of endoscopic treatment modalities for proctological diseases
