Imaging diagnostics The Phlebology Clinic / Services / Imaging diagnostics Introduction Scope of service Specialists Introduction Contemporary venous vascular imaging forms a key part in the qualification for treatment of a patient suffering from venous disease. Historically, many treatments and therapy ideas were done by feel. Knowledge of vein anatomy, their anomalies, variability, haemodynamics and how they interacted with each other was at a lower level due to technological limitations. Today, the primary and most commonly used diagnostic method (separated from classical radiological imaging) is Doppler ultrasonography (Doppler ultrasound). In cases requiring a more detailed diagnosis (so-called dilated diagnosis of the venous system), advanced imaging techniques are used, such as: magnetic resonance venography (abbreviated MRV) or computed tomography venography (abbreviation CTV). Intravascular ultrasonography (abbreviation IVUS) and digital phlebography Rather, they are methods that we are already reaching for when performing repair procedures on the venous system. Imaging studies of the venous system in the Department of Phlebology Doppler ultrasound examination of the veins intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) CT venography MR venography phlebography and digital varicography Doppler ultrasound of the veins Intravascular ultrasonography CT venography MR venography Digital phlebography What sets us apart? The Phlebology Clinic has a unique team of specialists that combines the expertise of different fields of vascular medicine. In one place they work together: radiologists and diagnosticians; Phlebologists specialising in diagnostic Doppler ultrasound of veins; interventional radiologists proctologists general surgeons, oncologic surgeons and vascular surgeons. This interdisciplinary collaboration provides a comprehensive approach to the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the venous system. The Phlebology Clinic offers a full range of diagnostic imaging using a proprietary strategy for comprehensive imaging of the venous system with a focus on:comprehensive diagnosis of venous insufficiency, including pelvic venous insufficiency (we have the most experience in this area in Poland); diagnosis of venous thrombosis, including systemic and portal vessel thrombosis; evaluation of varicose veins of the retroperitoneal space, pelvic varicose veins, varicose veins of the pelvic floor and intimate area and varicose veins of the lower limbs; screening and control of the venous system, particularly in young adults and pregnant women. Their occurrence should not be underestimated. 02 / Varicose veins of the lower limbs They are the most common symptom of venous insufficiency of the lower limbs. Their occurrence should not be underestimated. At the Phlebology Clinic, we treat venous disease causally. 03 / Venous edema of the shin An enlargement of the shin circumference that increases in the evening, accompanied by a feeling of heaviness, is usually a symptom of venous insufficiency. Think about having a venous Doppler ultrasound examination! 04 / Pelvic venous insufficiency Painful and prolonged periods, heaviness in the legs during menstruation, pain during intercourse and burning in the intimate area are just some of the symptoms of pelvic venous insufficiency. Find out more! 05 / Venous compression syndromes It is a group of anatomically determined venous disorders leading to early onset of pelvic venous insufficiency and varicose veins on the legs. It affects both ladies and gentlemen! 06 / Venous disease in pregnancy Not sure when to start wearing compression stockings? This form of pelvic venous insufficiency is one of the more common causes of varicose veins on the legs and a cause of discomfort in the groin and scrotum. Early diagnosis increases the chance of a full cure! 08 / Venous thrombosis Swelling of the leg, pain and redness are alarm signals that should not be ignored. Venous thrombosis is an emergency condition that requires immediate diagnosis by Doppler ultrasound. If untreated, it can lead to life-threatening pulmonary embolism. 01 / 08 Modern vein treatment We offer treatment both on an outpatient basis and in day ward admissions.
