Education and work experience:

Maciej Chwaliński, MD, PhD, is a graduate of the Medical University of Warsaw, from which he obtained his medical degree in 1994. After graduation, he worked at the Department of Gastrointestinal Tumours at the Oncology Centre in Warsaw under the direction of Prof. Marek Nowacki. During his specialisation in general surgery, he worked for 4 years at the Department of General, Vascular and Transplant Surgery of the Central Clinical Hospital of the Warsaw Medical Academy in Warsaw. He defended his doctorate in medicine under the supervision of Prof. Nowacki. Subsequently, he served for many years as an assistant professor in the Department of Colorectal Tumours and later in the Department of Gastrointestinal Tumours of the Oncology Centre in Warsaw.

Since 2014, he has been the head of the Department of Oncological Surgery at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Warsaw. He is the author of dozens of scientific papers in the field of colorectal surgery. He has been treating diseases of the rectum as a specialist proctologist for many years. In the Department of Phlebology he deals with minimally invasive treatment of haemorrhoidal disease and consulting patients with proctological problems.
