About the Phlebology Clinic

The Phlebology Clinic is a modern, highly specialised facility located in the heart of Warsaw, founded by doctors: Cezary Szary, Justyna Wilczko-Kucharska and Tomasz Grzela. It is a place where a team of people working with passion have combined the mission of implementing innovative diagnostic and treatment technologies together with the broadly understood education of patients and the training of doctors in the field of phlebology.

The strength of the Phlebology Clinic team is its comprehensive approach to the problems and ailments reported by patients, both from a diagnostic, preventive and therapeutic point of view. At the Phlebology Clinic, we deal with all diseases of the venous system on a daily basis, not just venous insufficiency of the lower limbs or varicose veins.

The author's causal treatment philosophy

The doctors in our team are pioneers of the so-called 'medicalisation'. the causal treatment of venous disease. The idea behind causal treatment is to seek to remove the source of the problem, which most often is pelvic venous insufficiency, often caused by anatomical abnormalities, volumetric overload of the venous system (e.g. multiple pregnancies) or other factors, which nowadays include intensive participation in power sports. Diagnosis plays a key role in this approach. It includes a comprehensive evaluation of the venous system by Doppler ultrasound and advanced imaging studies such as MR venography or CT. The therapeutic process usually consists of several stages and uses a strategy of descending treatment, otherwise known as sequential. Therapeutic management starts with minimally invasive treatment of pelvic venous insufficiency and then, depending on the needs and results, is extended to the treatment of venous insufficiency in other parts of the venous system, such as at the level of the pelvic floor or in the lower limbs.
In many cases, a combination of both strategies - causal and descending treatment - provides the best results in the treatment of venous insufficiency.

The pioneering efforts of our team

Doctors from our team were the first in Poland with full certification training to start using the method of gluing varicose veins of lower limbs with the VenaSeal system (2013). Subsequent vein adhesive systems introduced in Poland were the products used by our team: VariClose (2015) and VenaBlock and VeinOff (2016).

Our team has pioneered a causal treatment of venous disease and a descending treatment strategy. This innovative approach has significantly increased the effectiveness of treatment while reducing the recurrence of venous disease.

The ELVeS 1470 nm system has replaced traditional invasive surgical methods, offering patients a safe and far more effective alternative to other methods for treating venous insufficiency. All using tumescent infiltration anaesthesia and minimal tissue traumatisation.

The many years of experience of our team and the continuous improvement of embolisation techniques in the treatment of pelvic venous insufficiency have contributed to the development of treatment standards that are now a model for other centres dealing with this issue.

The scientific activities of the team at the Department of Phlebology make a significant contribution to the development of modern phlebology. Our scientific research and publications confirm the effectiveness of innovative and proprietary treatment methods, setting new standards in the treatment of venous diseases.

The doctors of the Phlebology Clinic have pioneered the causal treatment of venous disease worldwide. Our proprietary treatment methods, validated by scientific research and prestigious publications, have opened up new possibilities for all phlebology patients.

The introduction of a proprietary haemodynamic and radiological classification used in the assessment of ovarian venous insufficiency has facilitated treatment planning for patients with pelvic venous insufficiency. This proprietary method allows for a precise assessment of blood flow abnormalities, enabling clinicians to select the optimal therapeutic strategy.

The doctors of the Phlebology Clinic were pioneers in the use of the varicose vein bonding method in Poland. We were the first to introduce this innovative, minimally invasive technique into clinical practice in our country. We encourage you to read the results of a study comparing the effectiveness of adhesive and intravenous laser ablation in the treatment of venous insufficiency of the lower limbs.
