Jerzy Leszczyński, PhD

Education and professional experience

He graduated from the I Faculty of Medicine of the Medical Academy in Warsaw in 1990. In 1986-1990, he participated in works of the Student Scientific Group in the Clinic of General Surgery and Chest Diseases. Since 1990, he is employed in the Department and Clinic of General Surgery and Chest Diseases  of the Central Clinical Hospital of the Medical Academy in Warsaw. He gained the first and second degree of specialization in general surgery in 1993 and 1997, respectively, then being accepted for the position of the Clinic’s elder assistant .

He defended his PhD dissertation named “Outcomes and most prevalent complications of carotid endarterectomy” under the guidance of Prof. Mieczysław Szostek, MD, PhD in 2003 with distinction. He gained the specialization in vascular surgery in the same year and began working as a consultant in the Vascular Clinic of the Central Clinical Hospital at Banacha 1a street. He performs the procedures within vascular surgery, including reconstruction of arterial vessels of lower limbs, carotid arteries, celiac arteries and procedures on venous system in the treatment of chronic venous insufficiency and post-thrombotic syndrome. In 2006-2009, he worked as a consultant in the vascular surgery in the Provincial Hospital in Kielce. He is an academic lecturer and conducts classes for the students of the Faculty of Medicine in the Clinic of General and Endocrinologic Surgery.
